We strongly recommend getting the basic measurements of your screen and providing them to Earthsaver Equipment, Inc. in case of any machine modifications or model variations that do happen frequently, especially on older model machines. Basic measurements of thickness, length, and back arc length. A complete screen measurement guide is one of the product photos or can be provided by email/text if requested.

Basic screen measurements will be provided via email as part of order confirmation. We require email approval of the measurements prior to processing the order and building screens.

If screen is built correctly per your approved measurements but does not fit, Earthsaver can bring the screen back in for modifications at your cost. If the screen is built to the wrong specs per your approved measurements, Earthsaver will correct it at our cost. 

Steel Type:

A572 - A good mix of price, strength and give. Screen hole webbing can bend slightly when taking a contaminant hit rather than cracking or blowing out and making the screen useless. Recommended for most applications.

AR400/FM400 - Longest wearing in clean material, highest price. If you never crack or blow out your screens from contaminants like steel etc, this is a good choice.

Hole Shape:

Round – Wood-waste industry proven standard shape. Longest lasting with no weak 'corners'.  Best and most consistent finished product for most areas and machines. Slightly lower production rates compared to the other options.

Square - Highest production shape when not targeting a particular spec on your product. Allows a higher percentage of off-spec material through the screen. Prone to cracking at corners.

Diamond - Middle ground of square and round. Good quality finish and good production.

Hex – Another middle ground shape between round and square. Good quality finish and good production rates.

Hole Size:

1-1/2" to 2-1/2" - Common finished mulch production size. Varies based on machine and desired finished product specifications.

3" to 4" - Can be used for first grind or to meet a less common production specification. 

5"+ - "Demo" size for first grind or simple size reduction. Common in land clearing applications where product is left on ground. Allows contaminants to pass through and limit damage to tips and hammers.
